US comedians Dave Chappelle and Jon Stewart came to the Oxford Union for a Q&A event and I went along to photograph. The lighting conditions were quite challenging with so much back light but I increased the exposure to lift the shadows and trusted HP5 to handle the contrast – which it did very well. I thoroughly enjoyed the event but as the usual video crew were not there I don’t think the video will show up on the Oxford Union YouTube channel.

I wonder if you could send me more photos of that day. Because I watched the mark twain prize special on Netflix and while Jon Stewart was talking there were some pictures in the background and I really loved those but sadly couldn’t find them online. I guess they were shot on the same day.
Maybe you could send them via email.
You did well to find my pictures from watching the Netflix special because there was no mention of the Oxford Union from what I could tell. Dave and Jon brought their own photographer with them to that event – he sat next to me. The pictures I’m happy to share are on this blog, I don’t email pictures out.
