Hello~Nasir Hamid!I really find out your photoblog.Do you remember me?
I am the student from Taiwan with my Nikon FM camera and we met on the oxford street. I saw my own photo which you shot. It’s so beautiful. How amazing the colors are! I love it so much. Thanks you! Besides, I also aprreciate your other photos. I think you like profile, right? I developed my film recently and found your photo which I shot. Then I remember you had given me the letter! If you want to see that photo, I can email it for you. Good luck and nice to meet you!
Hey Shouz,
Of course I remember you π
I’ve emailed you, it would be great to see the portrait of me that you made.
Cheers,
Nasir
hello nasir ;i just wanna say to you you have a great photoblog ,and i like all of your photos ,they are amazing
i watch your work on flicker then i watch your portfolio here ,i see every photo and congratulations and keep the good work
Nasir,
Love your photogrpahy mate! especially the shot outside the launderette I found on Flickr in the artofphotography group. I aspire to take such quality images. Just need to find the local launderette to practice….
Anthony
Thanks very much. I feel annoyed about not having thought of photographing laundrettes years ago. There aren’t many left in Oxford.
Hi Nasir, I was in Oxford in November and was taking pictures when you approached me, you took a pic of me taking a picture of you, I just wanted to share with you the picture I took:

Keep up the good work!
Hi Nasir – your photos are amazing! I was at the Varsity Games a few weeks ago when you came to photograph. I was wondering whether the photos of the netballers worked out? I really hope so!
Hey Hannah, thanks for your message. I’m just about to post some new images and your portrait will be one of them. Sorry for the delay.
oh they’re fantastic. thank you so much, looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful pictures!
Dear Nasir,
Your blog is fantastic and your pictures are incredible: I already found Oxford wonderful, but I have seen the city with another eye thanks to your snapshots!
I also have a favor to ask you: I was at the Keble Ball last Saturday and I am pretty sure you took a picture of one of my friend. Since his birthday is coming soon, I was thinking that he would love to get the picture as a present. I was thus wondering if you would be kind enough to allow me to get this picture from you…
Many thanks in advance, and once again, bravo for your blog!
Hi Nasir,
Your blog is brilliant. And the quality of pictures is great. I think the Kodak Portra 400 colour film is superb. I have started using Fuji Velvia 100 (120 colour slide film, 6 x 4.5cm) and its amazing. I used to shoot film in the 80’s and 90’s. And then took up digital. But now, like you and a growing mass of people, I am going back to film. I’ve started using and collecting cameras of all sorts. I have a Voigtlander Vito BL, an Ensign 16/120 folding camera (both manual everything) a Pentax MX, a Minolta AF-7000 and many others, as well as my trusty Canon 400D for convenient digital work. I’m going to buy a rangefinder next. Something like a Canon Canonet QL17 if I can find one. I might even buy a Mamiya 7ii (120 format).
Anyway, I love your work. Keep going.
Hi Nasir
Great chatting to you the other day. Your portraits are wonderful. Looking forward to seeing mine – for someone who hates being photographed that’s saying something. Look me up on Flickr sometime you can find me at JasonR.
Best.
J
I came across your work after noticing your comment on my friend’s photostream (so this was pure coincidence), and this is one of the most refreshing places on the Internet I’ve visited for a long time.
Your pictures are very true and revealing, yet beautifull at the same time. I run a somewhat similar project regarding Krakow and found your pictures very inspirational.
Many thanks for your kind comment. I’ve been inspired by lots of photographers on Flickr so it’s nice to hear that someone has felt similarly about my own photography.
Hi Nasir
I love your blog and especially the quality of your B&W work. I was wondering if you would share a little bit of information about your scanning technique particularly which scanner and software you are using and how you get your scans to look so good.
Regards
Steve
Hey Nasir,
Your pictures are absolutely stunning! I wondered if you also did pictures at more “formal” events, like cocktail receptions etc. If ever you were interested, please contact me, we would love to have you!
Cheers,
Sixtine
Hi nasir!
We met at the Oxford Fashion Week Casting a few weeks back, I am the chap that took a keen interest in your Mamiyas and we had a chat about Medium format. I am loving looking at your blog and your MF images. Hopefully i’ll catch you around town when I’m shooting too.
You took my portrait on some Fuji 100 alongside my girlfriend. I was wondering if you could send a TIFF or JPEG of the scan of that slide if you have it in your archives somewhere to myself? We are the last couple on the blog post. It would be fantastic!
Keep up the excellent work.
Tom
Wow Nasir great work here! I was recommended your page by Alex from the same school we went too. You capture the image so well. Impressive!
Thanks, Parveen. I remember you and David from Cheney. I’m a bit hazy on Isis as it was so long ago.
Great photgraphy! You do a great job better than the action photos my dad takes with his Canon EOS 60D. I came across your blog by googling “Bmx in oxford.”
Hey Nasir,
Wow, you’ve got some absolutely amazing shots on here! It was a pleasure to meet you today, I’ll send you a copy of your portrait once edited.
Dear Nasir ,
We have not met, but I often view your images and reflect upon your excellent portraits and composition, such as with this Flickr link below.

Pertaining to this image, Tri-X and Rodinal 1+50 at EI 1600. I am wondering how many mins you give to development and agitation method?
Thank you for your time and any processing recommendations for push process with Tri-X and Rodinal.

Nasir,
I am not sure if it’s you that I met during my Oxford trip on August 8th. last year. I am from Shanghai, China. I took two photos for you, and promised to see them to you. But I am sorry to say, my email didn’t get any reply from you. So if it’s really you, please reply me via my email.
Thanks very much for replying. I think your email must have gotten lost. I appreciate the pictures, that was a great day π
Hi Nasir,
I love your photography! Where do you buy your cameras from? I’d like to try out more film photography, but don’t really want to buy cameras off ebay; can you recommend any good second hand shops?
Thanks π
Very good to meet today on Cormarket, love the blog , very impressive.
I will send my shot of you over but I am away from computer for a while, so may be some delay. B
Dude! YOU are sitting on a gold mine! π
Lovely pics, as always.
Cheers!
J
Thanks, mate. It’s great to hear from you π
Thanks for stopping by. Please post some new work to your blog. I was on there not too long ago.
Hi,
You take great photos! I found you on flickr and then saw you had a blog. I was wondering if you had any more photos from Torpids 2015?
π Keep up the good work!
Thank you. I do have some more photography from Torpids still to post so please keep an eye out for them.
Hey Nas,
Excellent work bro! I am inspired to pick the good old film roll cameras again – will seek a refresher lol. Congratulations Nas, you’re one true professional I know. Keep it up.
Faks
Hey Faks,
Thanks for your kind words π Film is the real deal. I’m more than happy to give you some pointers about how to make pictures without chimping an LCD screen. You’ll become a better photographer too. Long live film! π
Hi Nasir,
Really stunning pictures you’ve got here on your blog. I enjoyed each and every one of it. Was just wondering where do you get your film supplies? I’m new here in Oxford and would really appreciate shop recommendations that i can go to. Not really looking for pro films so any cheap ones will do, thanks!
Cheers mate,
Emir
Hey Emir,
I mostly buy my film online. Here are some places to look at:
http://www.7dayshop.com / http://www.siverprint.co.uk / http://www.firstcall-photographic.co.uk / http://www.ag-photographic.co.uk
Sometimes you can find film in Poundland but if they get any in stock it doesn’t usually stay on the shelves for long!
Wondering if any of your Endeavour Oxford shots would be available for me to share with Maryland Public Television viewers in the U.S?
Hey Heather, I’ve emailed you directly.
Hi Nasir,
Wonderful photos! I’m a fellow film photographer who has just recently moved to Oxford. I was wondering where you get your film developed? Hopefully there’s somewhere local (town centre) where I could also visit. Do tell me if you to London to get your film developed.
Places that would be equipped/good enough to do cross-processing would also be helpful!
Thanks π
I’ve sent you an email. I develop my own film most of the time. Cheers.
Hi Nasir,
Excellent photos, love some of the Oxford Union photos with Delta 400 pushed to 1600. Retained impressive grain structure. We met briefly on May morning and I finally found your site. Maybe we will meet again on the streets of Oxford. It is quite nerve wracking abandoning digital and going back to film.
Cheers
Phil
Thanks, Phil.
Hi Nas,
I’ve been scrolling through my old bookmarks, imported from Firefox, which were sitting on my laptop untouched for many years and it seems like I’ve just rediscovered your Photo blog! I likely saved the link back in 2012, the year I first came to Oxford. Who would have thought that I’ll meet you later on at OUP! Small world, Oxford. Love the atmosphere of your film photographs. They have this unique raw feeling combined with soothing depth.
I think you deserve a medal for keeping it up past x years! The majority of my bookmarks are not functional anymore.. meanwhile yours is going strong. It says a lot about your passion!Β
Cheers,
Veronika
Hey Veronika,
What a small world! Thank you for your kind words. I’ve been slipping with my regular blog posts and meanwhile my backlog of pictures is growing ever higher. I will do my best to keep on the regular. Cheers.
Hi Nasir i came across your amazing photos of Endeavour filming as i run a Facebook group for the show so was trying to find about where the series is filmed , i am a amateur photography too and am thinking of coming to Oxford to tour the places where Endeavour is filmed , also have you any idea when filming for series 9 will take place,Once again your photos are brilliant cheers Vicky
Hello Vicky, thanks for your kind words. I’m afraid I don’t have any information about filming. It’s all kept under wraps for obvious reasons. Cheers.
Hi Nasir,
Great photos!
When will you be posting your November 2022 pics as Iβm really looking forward to seeing the photo you took of my boyfriend and I in Jericho, outside 1 Mount place on the corner.
Happy Holidays!
Jess

Hey Jess,
Apologies for the delay. I’ve posted your portrait here: http://www.simplyoxford.com/oxford/oxford-aero-ektar-lens-test
Can you give me more information about this sliding diptych polaroid back and how can I get one? Thank you very much!
Hey Angel,
I bought it many years ago on ebay. I don’t think they are manufactured anymore. Arca Swiss made one as well but they are very hard to find.
Hello! Iβve just come across your website after looking up endeavour filming locations, Iβm so jealous you get to shoot on set of to shows, if I may ask how you get permission to do this? Itβs my dream job. Thanks so much
Hi Nasir, I have shared your photos of the Endeavour pilot episode (and credited you accordingly) on the group Endeavour Morse Fans and Faves. Hope this is OK with you. Your article was so good it needed to be shared in the group. Feel free to join us!
Thanks for letting me know. Please feel free to share a link to my blog post but not the pictures because I’m not a fan of Facebook/Meta/Instagram and their practices of putting profits above anything else.
Hey Nasir!
Iβm the guy with the Leica and Olympus XA from your latest post. Great photo – very happy it turned out well!
Iβve sent you an email with the photo I took of you – is it possible that I can have the photo you took of me?
Great meeting and talking with you!
Br,
Nicolai
Hello Nicolai,
Thanks for your comment. It was nice meeting you too. I’ve only just seen your comment and I checked my email and junk folder but nothing has come through from you.
Please would you resend.
Thanks,
Nasir
Hi Nasir,
These photos are absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much for showing me your camera the other day.
If itβs at all possible to have a higher res version of the one of me on the Clarendon steps Iβd be highly appreciative!
Best,
Oliver
Hey Oliver,
Thanks for your kind comment. If you drop me an email (address at the top of this page) I’ll send you a higher quality version.
Cheers,
Nasir
